Cloncurry Shire Council hosted the Flying Doctor 90th Birthday Celebrations in Cloncurry on Wednesday 16 – Sunday 20 May 2018.

Flying Doctor 90th Birthday Tribute Dinner

John Flynn Place Museum & Art Gallery and Cloncurry Shire Hall, Wednesday 16 May 2018, 6.00pm

A guided tour and pre-dinner drinks greeted guests on arrival at John Flynn Place Museum and Art Gallery, before they made their way to a 2-course Dinner at the Community Precinct.

Everyone was invited to come along to Cloncurry Airport for a free Community Breakfast and to watch the reenactment of the first Flying Doctor Flight from Cloncurry to rescue a stockman in Julia Creek.

Public were invited to see some of the planes from the AAAA Pilgrimage Trek up close.

Guided Tours were conducted daily with the addition of a tour guide from RFDS Broken Hill and the Friends of John Flynn Place to provide extra insight. The entries in the School Children’s Art Competition were displayed.

All the community were invited to attend a Flying Doctor Tribute Concert featuring Halfway & Bulldust. Entry by gold coin donation to raise funds for the Royal Flying Doctor Service.


Movie Night – Paper Planes
