Known as the ‘Friendly Heart of the Great North West’ Cloncurry sits on the junctions of the Matilda Highway and Overlander’s Way. The ‘Curry’, as it is affectionately known by locals, is 120km east of Mt Isa, 137km west of Julia Creek and 347km north east of Winton.
John Flynn Place Museum and Art Gallery is located on the corner of King and Daintree Streets.
- East from Mount Isa – When approaching Cloncurry, proceed east into town on Ramsay Street and continue 600m and turn left at King Street and proceed approximately 400m down the street through first the intersection and John Flynn Place is located at the second intersection on the corner of King and Daintree Streets.
- West from Julia Creek – When approaching Cloncurry, proceed west into town on McIlwraith Street and continue 2km into town and turn right at King Street and proceed 400m down the street through the first intersection and John Flynn Place is located at the second intersection on the corner of King and Daintree Streets.

Your Entry Fee will support the research, development and presentation of exhibits of precious items in the John Flynn Place Museum and Art Gallery.
You will also be playing a vital role in building our community’s understanding of our natural/social history for everyone to enjoy, share and learn.
As this is the Birth place for one of Australia’s biggest Icons and Rev John Flynn the man behind the Royal Flying Doctors Service humble beginnings along with his many supports are all celebrated with in the walls of John Flynn Place Museum and Art Gallery.
Coach/Bus and School Tours welcomed.
Admission can be paid via cash or EFTPOS.
